Lender Terms & Conditions

These Lender Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the relationship between AURA (“AURA”, “we”, “our”, “us”) and any individual or business (“Lender”, “you”, “your”) listing items for rental through the AURA platform.

By submitting or listing items with AURA, you agree to these Terms.


1. Eligibility

To become a lender on AURA, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Legally own all items submitted
  • Have the legal right to rent the items
  • Provide accurate identification, contact, and payment information

AURA reserves the right to approve or reject any lender application at our discretion.


2. Item Requirements

All items listed on AURA must:

  • Be authentic and legally obtained
  • Be in excellent, wearable condition
  • Match the descriptions and images provided
  • Be free from significant stains, tears, odours, or damage

AURA may reject, suspend, or remove items that do not meet our quality standards.


3. Listing Approval

Submitting an item does not guarantee approval.

By submitting an item, you grant AURA permission to:

  • Photograph and market the item
  • Use your listing images for promotional purposes
  • Display the item on our website, social platforms, and advertising materials

AURA reserves the right to edit descriptions, pricing, and imagery for brand consistency.


4. Pricing & Commission

Rental pricing is determined by AURA based on:

  • Brand
  • Retail value
  • Demand
  • Item condition
  • Rental performance

AURA deducts a commission fee from each completed rental before payouts are issued.

Commission structures may change at any time with reasonable notice.


5. Payments

Lender payouts are processed within 8–10 business days after the rental period ends, provided:

  • The item has been returned
  • No disputes or damage claims are outstanding

Payments are sent to the bank account provided by the lender.

Lenders are responsible for ensuring their payment details are accurate.


6. Shipping & Fulfilment

Lenders may be required to:

  • Ship items to AURA
  • Arrange drop-off
  • Meet dispatch deadlines for bookings

Failure to send items on time may result in:

  • Order cancellations
  • Account suspension
  • Reduced visibility on the platform

Shipping costs and arrangements may vary depending on the service model agreed with AURA.


7. Cleaning & Care

Items must be sent in clean and rentable condition.

AURA may professionally clean items between rentals where applicable.

Lenders must disclose:

  • Delicate fabrics
  • Special care instructions
  • Existing flaws or alterations


8. Damage, Loss & Wear

Normal wear and tear is expected through the rental process.

Examples of normal wear include:

  • Minor fabric wear
  • Small loose threads
  • General signs of use consistent with short-term rental

Significant damage includes:

  • Permanent staining
  • Tears
  • Missing components
  • Irreparable damage

If an item is damaged, lost, or stolen, AURA will assess the matter and determine appropriate repair, compensation, or replacement outcomes at its discretion.

Compensation may consider:

  • Original retail value
  • Item age
  • Rental history
  • Current condition
  • Depreciation

AURA does not guarantee full retail reimbursement.


9. Item Availability

Lenders agree not to:

  • Remove items during confirmed bookings
  • Rent listed items through conflicting platforms without updating availability
  • Misrepresent ownership or availability

AURA reserves the right to temporarily pause listings to maintain customer experience standards.


10. Removal of Listings

Lenders may request removal of items at any time, provided:

  • There are no active or upcoming bookings
  • Outstanding payments or disputes are resolved

AURA may remove items that:

  • Receive repeated complaints
  • Fail quality checks
  • Breach these Terms


11. Account Suspension & Termination

AURA reserves the right to suspend or terminate lender accounts for:

  • Fraudulent activity
  • Counterfeit items
  • Repeated cancellations
  • Failure to fulfil orders
  • Breach of these Terms

Any outstanding obligations survive account termination.


12. Taxes

Lenders are solely responsible for:

  • Reporting rental income
  • Paying any applicable taxes, duties, or fees

AURA does not provide tax advice.


13. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AURA shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential losses
  • Loss of profits
  • Delays caused by third parties
  • Damage resulting from undisclosed item defects

AURA’s total liability shall not exceed the total rental income earned from the affected item within the preceding 12 months.


14. Intellectual Property

All AURA branding, website content, imagery, and materials remain the intellectual property of AURA.

Lenders may not reproduce or use AURA branding without written permission.


15. Amendments

AURA may update these Terms at any time.

Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
